Ayrshire: A 100 km² farmland survey by bike located 77 singing male Yellowhammers on the western side of Kilmarnock (from Kilmaurs in the north, south to Symington, and west to Springside/Dundonald. Present in 18 of 25 tetrads checked. Habitat mainly pastoral farmland with occasional barley/wheat fields.

Also 27 pairs of Tree Sparrows located (mainly nesting in Ash/Beech) in the Springside-Crosshouse-Kilmaurs area.
